Midnight Sun Run & FRA

Now in its 41st year, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner Midnight Sun Run is overseen by the nonprofit organization Midnight Sun Run, Inc. Proceeds from the race benefit local non-profit and race producer Fairbanks Resource Agency (FRA).

“We are pleased to be involved in such a time-honored community event,” said FRA Executive Director Emily Ennis. “Our agency will bring a lot of talent and energy to make Fairbanks’ signature summer event a fantastic success.”

Fairbanks Resource Agency’s mission of community inclusion for people of all abilities is well exemplified by the Midnight Sun Run. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to run, walk, stroll or roll together under the midnight sun. Learn more about FRA at fra-alaska.org.

The Midnight Sun Run depends on hundreds of volunteers from across the community and volunteers are most welcome. Learn more about Volunteer Opportunities on our Volunteers page.

Fairbanks Resource Agency is dedicated to assuring that Interior Alaskans with disabilities and their families have equal opportunity to be fully integrated into the community where education, employment, housing, recreation and family support services are available in the same places, at the same times and with the same respect afforded any member of the community.

Established in 1967, Fairbanks Resource Agency (FRA) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing supportive services, housing, referrals, employment and information for individuals who experience a disability and their family or caregiver. Our goal is to assist individuals to achieve their highest potential where they live, learn and work.

We provide accessible, effective services that support the dignity and independence of children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or other complex behaviors, adults with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and seniors experiencing frail or disabling conditions. We also offer vocational training and employment opportunities for adults with a disabling condition.

As one of the largest private employers based in Fairbanks Alaska, FRA employs approximately 350 qualified staff dedicated to providing supports that enhance the lives of those we serve. Please browse our website to learn more about what we offer, employment opportunities, upcoming events and how to get involved.
